Community Champions – Coast to Coast Conveyancing

John Caruso discovers how small, sincere actions can change the face of a place, one family at a time.

There’s something to be said for businesses that quietly get on with the job while also making a valuable contribution to community. Coast to Coast Conveyancing is one such outfit, proudly low on hype, high on substance, and visibly invested in the places they live and work.

My conversation with Coast to Coast Conveyancing offered insight into a team that genuinely sees itself as part of the community, not separate from it – and an organisation that has generosity as a constant companion.

“As a conveyancing business, we’re not just here to process the paperwork and hand you the keys,” Senior Conveyancer Jess Avenell says, her tone measured but unmistakably passionate. “For us, the idea of community is both a privilege and a responsibility.”

That sense of responsibility is anything but theoretical, as evidenced by an ongoing program of hands-on action for local causes and people.

“With every property settlement, we donate and give back through specific projects where there are results you can feel,” she says.

These projects are much more than tick-the-box philanthropy, and Senior Associate Cassandra Young is happy to share exactly what that looks like, starting with Coast to Coast’s partnership with Inclusive Kids. In particular, the Kicks for Kids initiative which provides new shoes for children who might otherwise go without.

“Proper shoes can be the difference between a kid going to school or feeling left out,” Cass explains. “It might sound simple, but it’s fundamental.”

The sense of pride is quiet but clear, there’s a real regard for dignity and inclusion. There’s also Fuel for School, which helps keep pantries stocked for children who’d otherwise go hungry.

“Lack of food leads to so many downstream issues,” Jess adds.

“By supporting Fuel for School, we help children receive the fuel they need for learning and assist teachers to focus on teaching, not providing lunches out of their own pockets.”

These programs aren’t abstract gestures, they’re real-world, measurable boosts to local families who are doing it tough. Jess humbly shares that they also help Waves of Kindness and supply Christmas hampers to people in need.

“Honestly, it’s not about needing the praise, we just do it because it needs doing,” she says. “All initiatives matter.”

Waves of Kindness is a local collective focusing on acts of generosity, big and small, throughout the year.

“We’ve been involved in this initiative because the philosophy matches our own: help out where you can, don’t broadcast it, just do what needs to be done,” Jess admits.

Christmas can be a busy and emotional season for many, and Coast to Coast is doing its part again this year.

“We’re committed to helping with Christmas hampers for vulnerable families,” she says. “We did it last year, and we’ll do again this year. It’s a small effort for us, but it can mean the world to someone else. It could make the difference between a tough Christmas and one with a bit of joy and dignity.”

Tony Pignata, Managing Director of Inclusive Kids, captures the spirit of Coast to Coast’s contribution perfectly: “Coast to Coast Conveyancing isn’t just ticking a corporate charity box, they genuinely care about the local kids and families we support,” he says.

“Their ongoing contributions have helped us build programs to address issues like hunger, access to basic supplies, and mental health support.

“It’s because of partners like Coast to Coast that we’re able to make a real difference here on the Sunshine Coast.”

For Jess, generosity is inseparable from being part of a place.

“I think there’s something uniquely Australian in that,” she says.

“Most of us have had hard times, and we’ve all benefited from a helping hand. It feels right to pay that forward, whether it’s with a Christmas hamper, school shoes, or just listening.”

It’s not often you get to feel good just by choosing a conveyancing solicitor but this leading law firm is committed to building a better community – from Coast to Coast.
