FASHIONS ON THE FIELD JUDGING CRITERIA

NOOSA TWILIGHT POLO 2024

Originality and Creativity – While adhering to tradition, a standout contestant will bring a unique or creative twist to their ensemble, whether through colour choice, patterns, or unique accessories.

Expression of Personality and Individuality – Contestants are encouraged to showcase their personal style and flair. Judges will look for outfits that reflect the wearer’s unique personality, while still maintaining the sophistication and elegance expected at the polo. Creative touches or distinctive elements that make the outfit stand out will be valued.

Style and Elegance – Contestants are judged on their overall look, which should reflect sophistication and a classic sense of style suitable for the polo. Outfits should be polished, fashionable, and well put together.

Appropriateness for the Polo – The outfit should suit the occasion, with a balance of smart-casual and elegance. Polo fashion tends to be more relaxed than traditional race day attire but is still refined, and can include:

  • Flats, wedges or block-heeled shoes
  • Midi or maxi dresses, wide-leg pants and jumpsuits
  • Tailored shorts and sets
  • Millinery appropriate for polo (hats, headbands and hair accessories rather than fascinators)

Attention to Detail – Judges will consider the little details, such as how well the accessories (hats, shoes, bags) complement the overall outfit.

Confidence and Presentation – How well the contestant presents themselves, their poise and confidence will also play a significant role in the judging.

Grooming and Personal Care – Hair, makeup, and overall grooming should be immaculate, reflecting a well-kept appearance to complete the look.

Coordination and Balance – The outfit should be well-coordinated, with all elements (clothing, shoes, accessories) working together harmoniously.

Most of all, have fun!
