
Feel the Difference at TH7
Contrast therapy, compression boots, saunas, steam room, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and more – members of the IN Noosa Magazine team discovered just how effective the science-backed protocols at leading recovery, wellness and longevity facility, TH7, can be. Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer captures the experience.
ALI, Nomad Protocol (compression boots, contrast pools) – 50 min
I’d never used compression boots before, but this was a great way to speed up recovery. I’d been for a run earlier, and after the treatment I certainly noticed less muscle soreness and fatigue, as well as increased circulation – and all I had to do was sit back and relax. By comparison, I had to dig deep and focus on my breathing while in the cold pool; but the contrast between the warm and cold gave me a boost of energy, physically and mentally.
MICHELLE, Red light therapy – 20min
I like to take care of my skin, so I was excited to try out the red light therapy treatment, which promotes healing and reduces inflammation and signs of ageing. It was a fantastic 20-minute escape that helped me unwind and rejuvenated my body and mind – plus my skin felt smoother post treatment! I’m looking forward to heading back to TH7 and discovering more benefits, including enhancing my sleep quality. Thanks TH7!
JODIE, Nordic Protocol (traditional sauna, contrast pools, steam room) – 60 min
I felt alive, energised and liberated after this protocol! The sauna was a comforting way to warm up in anticipation of the chill factor, while the cold pool really pushed me mentally; I had to dig deep. The hot pool was heaven on earth, and my wind-down in the steam room with eucalyptus oil helped centre me. I can’t wait to do it again!
BEX, Express Protocol (traditional sauna, cold pool) – 25 min
I get next to no time to myself (shoutout to my small children), so this protocol perfectly fit the bill by being quick, easy and extremely effective! The sauna was relaxing and centring, while the cold pool pushed me to my limits in terms of endurance and overriding my fight-or-flight response. The result? Increased dopamine, mental resilience, and a definite energy boost!
DEB, Detox Protocol (infrared sauna, contrast pools, hyperbaric oxygen chamber) 1 hr 45 min
I tend to run on adrenaline with limited time for exercise other than rushing around so the infrared sauna offered me the chance to destress and detox. The contrast pools were initially a shock but the TH7 team supported me through it so well and the experience left me feeling extremely invigorated! Winding down in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber allowed me to catch up on some reading while reaping the benefits of a boost of oxygen! I’m sure I emerged smarter!
JOHN, Recover Protocol (steam room, contrast therapy) – 40 min
While delivering magazines I often get a pinch here and a pull there, so this protocol was recommended as the perfect way to reenergise and invigorate. The facilities are world class, and the staff are all legends. They guided me through breathing techniques to prepare me for the cold pool plunge followed by a hot pool dip, and with each subsequent cold pool re-entry my resistance subsided while my overall energy levels increased and I felt more alive afterwards.
MEL, Refresh Protocol (traditional sauna, contrast pools) – 40 min
I struggle with ongoing lower back pain, especially after exercising. The Refresh Protocol was the perfect combination of hot and cold, which relaxed my muscles. Even though the cold pool was freezing, I could feel the good work being done for reduced inflammation, and enjoyed the challenge of surrendering to the experience. Afterwards, I felt revitalised, switched on and ready to face the day – those good vibes continued throughout the week!
