Sipping Slowly with Intention… with Hummble

Meet local cacao connoisseur – Laura from Hummble, whose handcrafted range of organic plant-based, powdered elixirs are seriously elevating the humble cup of cacao. Jodie Cameron dives into the world of medicinal herbs and how Hummble’s unique ingredients are bringing a new form of energy, healing and vitality to everyday lives.

People are surprised when they discover I am a 40-year-old-coffee-virgin. Yep, never drank a cup in my life, not even while holidaying in Italy, shock horror! They genuinely cannot understand how I function without it, yet my palate and I have always been in 100% agreeance. But cacao, well that’s a different cup of goodness, and Hummble’s nourishing blends with organic Peruvian cacao, Ayurvedic herbs and functional mushrooms makes it my cup of choice.

Sanskrit for ‘science of life’, Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest whole-body healing systems, while cacao has graced our earth for more than 4000 years, and is the raw unprocessed version of cocoa. Its ability to release dopamine and endorphins into the brain makes cacao highly ranked in the wellness world for lowering blood pressure, improving blood flow to your brain and heart, and helping to prevent blood clots.

Available in three perfectly crafted blends to suit your desired state, Hummble’s Awaken, Calm and Elevate cacao are 100% organic, gluten-free, vegan, and ethically sourced. But what really makes Hummble stand out from the rest? Simple, it’s science. When it comes to nutrition, Hummble’s creator, Laura McNamara, brings a Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition plus studies in Ayurvedic Medicine to provide a deeper insight into what’s behind what we consume and how it interacts with our body.

“I had the privilege of studying under Dr. Ajit at the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies for six months,” Laura says. “This experience allowed me to immerse myself in the holistic principles of Ayurveda, as well as a well-rounded perspective on how to nourish the body, both scientifically and energetically.”

While an early childhood fascination with flavour combinations set Laura on her food science journey, it was during university that Laura’s love of blending flavours, and passion for product development really took off.

“I have always been curious about how different flavours work together,” she says. “I can still remember being three or four-years-old and enjoying unique snack combinations like peanut butter and sultanas or cottage cheese and gherkins. There’s something satisfying about finding that perfect balance where different tastes unite in harmony.”

Combining antioxidant-rich Peruvian sourced cacao with adaptogenic superfood ingredients, like Siberian ginseng, maca, roasted dandelion root and micro-doses of medicinal mushrooms, Laura has found the perfect balance to give our bodies what it needs to thrive, both physically and mentally.

“Adaptogenic superfoods are incredible natural allies in today’s fast-paced world because they help our bodies adapt to stress by balancing our stress response, supporting our adrenal system, and regulating hormones,” she says. “Physically, they boost energy, enhance immunity, and build resilience; and mentally, they promote clarity, focus and a calm mind.”

Hummble’s unique blend of medicinal mushrooms brings a symphony of benefits to the body, mind, and soul including cordyceps for energy and endurance; shiitake and maitake to support immune function; and turkey tail to promote gut health and overall wellbeing to fortify the body’s defences.

“Microdoses of medicinal mushrooms offer a gentle, consistent way to support our wellbeing without overwhelming the body,” Laura says. “These amazing fungi are packed with bioactive compounds that enhance immune function, cognitive health, and emotional balance.”

But Hummble is more than a cup of goodness, it’s a way of life, so naturally there’s more to the process than its deliciously earthy taste and delightful aroma — it’s a feeling.

“We believe in nourishing people, because well-nourished people are the best versions of themselves which is why each batch is infused with good feelings or Reiki, which is a gentle yet powerful form of energy healing designed to ground you to the present,” Laura says.

Originating in Japan, the ancient technique of Reiki is a non-invasive therapy that involves the exchange of energy through hands on, or near the body, and is used for relaxation and stress reduction.

“Our Master Reiki Practitioner infuses each batch of Hummble with positive energy right after it’s made to replace any residual energy from harvesting, processing, and transporting, with intentions of love, gratitude, and nourishment,” smiles Laura.

The result is a cup of goodness that not only supports your physical wellbeing, but promotes a sense of peace, balance, and overall wellbeing. Crafted with the utmost love and care from their Noosaville warehouse, every ingredient is chosen for its quality and nutritional benefits, and Laura says they are deeply committed to sustainability at every step.

But like any inspiring cacao-preneur, Laura’s insatiable passion for creation is always brewing, so watch this space because there is more heartfelt Hummble goodness frothing away!

“We have so many ideas for Hummble, we’re currently working on adding two more products to our cacao tonic range, and there’s more in the pipeline,” she says. “Everything will stay true to our commitment to using organic, nourishing, plant-based ingredients creating healing foods for vibrant lives.”

Since becoming hooked on Hummble, my boys and I have been relishing all the ways we can Hummblise our food including avocado mousse and bliss balls, which according to my five-year-old are “the best bliss balls of my life” – suffice to say, Hummble has become a pantry staple and a daily ritual.

“There are so many fun ways to use our products beyond just beverages, try adding them to smoothies for an extra nutrient boost, mixing them into pancake batter, or even blended into yogurt or cream for an indulgent pick-me-up,” Laura says. “They’re also great for baking—try incorporating them into cookies, muffins, or homemade granola bars, the possibilities are endless, and a wonderful way to bring more nourishment into everyday meals.”

Take a moment to rest your mind, nourish your body and connect with your soul, while sipping slowly with intention; one thought at a time.

“We believe that wellness should be joyful and accessible, and we’re here to support your journey to vibrant health with products that taste as good as they make you feel,” Laura says. “Remember, taking care of yourself is the first step to living your best life, and we’re honoured to be part of that journey.”
