Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival 2020
Let’s face it, 2020 hasn’t exactly been a barrel of laughs. So what better way to round out the year than with some much-needed comic relief!
Showcasing some of Queensland’s funniest comedians doing what they do best, the inaugural Sunshine Coast Comedy Festival (SCCF) will deliver three days of belly laughs across the Coast from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2020.
Brought to you by Near North Festivals, a local events company newly founded by Tim Loydell and Guy Harrison, the duo bring years of music, arts and festival experience to the Sunshine Coast and are delighted to present this inaugural funny fest.
“There’s no doubt 2020 has been an absolute washing machine of a year and we can’t wait to round it out with some of the best in Australian comedy, right here across the Coast,” says Tim.
Held across the Sunshine Coast, with Festival HQ at the Sunshine Coast’s newest entertainment precinct The NightQuarter in Birtinya, the 2020 SCCF is bringing local audiences side-splitting, stand-up comedy from some of our best homegrown talent.
Featuring a stellar line up of comedians including Steph Tisdell, Vanessa Colin, Jacques Barrett and the Sunshine Coast’s own resident LOL Queen Anna Brennan, the SCCF features sit-down dinner shows at the Malt Shovel Taphouse; a competition for emerging comedians at Solbar, Maroochydore with a $500 cash prize; a special all-ages event, suitable for the whole family, with even more shows still to be announced!
Owner of NightQuarter, Michelle Christoe says now, more than ever, we need to let our hair down and have some fun.
“We all need a laugh and this year has been incredibly challenging for everyone. We are proud to support this new comedy venture to help put Sunny Coast on the map for comedy!”
