One of our favourite local gathering spots is turning the big 2-0! Join us in raising our glasses as we celebrate 20 things we love about Peregian Beach Hotel…

Hip hip hooray, it’s Peregian Beach Hotel’s 20th birthday! An absolute icon of the Noosa and Sunshine Coast regions, Peregian Beach Hotel blends relaxed charm, delicious food and drinks, and their “local love” philosophy to create a beautiful gathering space where the good times flow and everyone feels welcome.

From humble origins to the stylishly revamped destination we know and love today, Peregian Beach Hotel (or PBH, as it’s affectionately called by locals) has always been at the heart of the community. There’s a lot to love about this family-owned business, the beautiful people behind it, and their passion for giving back – so let’s dive in!

Here’s 20 reasons we adore Peregian Beach Hotel…

1. “Local love” isn’t just a catchphrase

From the decor and the drinks to the food, interiors and beyond, the team behind PBH are passionate about supporting the local community any way they can. Co-owner Kylie Plunkett is the President of the Peregian Beach Business Association and as long-time supporters of fundraising events, they’re all about helping to make Peregian Beach the best it can be – cheers to that!

2. The beachy, beautiful vibes

Rattan ceiling? Check! White archways? Check! Striped sun umbrellas? Check! From the stunning alfresco area to the Mediterranean x Palm Springs-inspired Il Porto bar and the relaxed restaurant, every area of PBH sparks joy through its fun, thoughtful, creative design.

3. Local sips are front and centre

PBH loves showcasing local brewers and distillers – think Land & Sea Noosa, Boiling Pot Brewing Co, Your Mates, Heads of Noosa, Seabourne Distillery and Sunshine & Sons – ensuring every glass tastes like home.

4. Dining destination

Forget pub grub – the talented kitchen team takes casual beachside dining to the next level with a vibrant seasonal menu showcasing the best produce from the region. From noodles and tacos to steaks, seafood and beyond, you’ll find all your favourites with a twist, plus plenty of creative flavour combos.

Time to dig in!

5. No-one misses out

Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free or have other dietary requirements, there’s a plate for every palate!

6. Little ones are welcome

From the tasty kids’ meals to the chill vibes, it’s the perfect family-friendly spot – whether it’s a family dinner, special occasion celebration, or simply a quick post-beach visit on the terrace.

7. Lovely live music

From Friday to Sunday, PBH comes alive with a brilliant line-up of local talent – think DJs, singer-songwriters and acoustic musicians creating the soundtrack to your weekend. You might even discover a new favourite artist!

8. The walls are a work of art

PBH is a thing of beauty to gaze upon, from the funky floor tiles from local biz Sunshine Living Tile & Stone to the hand-crafted bench seat cushions created by Peregian Curtains & Blinds. But it’s the walls that do the talking – particularly the gorgeous whale wood carvings by local sculptor KC Vidur, and the vibrant mural and wallpaper by local artist Cass Deller. That’s art with heart!

9. Furry friends are family

It’s Peregian Beach, so of course your furry bestie is always welcome in the alfresco area! Enjoy a sundowner as you watch the sky turn pink and purple – the paw-fect end to the day.

10. It’s always cocktail o’clock

Cocktails are king at PBH and we love ours served in the dreamy Il Porto cocktail bar, where the booths are comfortable and cosy, the bar snacks are delicious, and the vibes are immaculate! Toast to picture-perfect Peregian days with classics like Spicy Margaritas, Espresso Martinis, Aperol Spritzes, as well as other clever creations.

11. Party in style

Whether it’s a special birthday, anniversary party, or a corporate function, PBH is the perfect luxe backdrop for your celebrations. Catering for up to 100 guests with fabulous food and decadent drinks, all you’ll need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your big day.

12. A wheely good bottleshop

Need to grab some beers or a bottle of the best? No worries! The PBH drive-through bottleshop features a carefully curated selection of the finest beers, wines and spirits from around the globe, making it super easy to swing through, shop and sip.

13. Terrific takeaway

Did someone say gourmet takeaway? Take your Netflix n Chill to new heights with PBH’s easy-peasy drive-through takeaway! Simply order online, drive through to collect, and maybe grab yourself a cheeky bottle of wine to go with it (it’d be rude not to).

14. Woodfired wonders

Speaking of food, you simply MUST try the woodfired pizzas, available all day every day from 12pm to 9pm! Made on an authentic sourdough base (from a starter that’s six years old and counting) and featuring all sorts of delicious toppings, it’ll be love at first bite.

15. Wear your PBH heart on your sleeve – literally

Share your love for this local fave or keep your holiday memories alive with their range of merch! From bucket hats and tumblers to stubby coolers and beautiful printed tees, everyone can take a little piece of PBH home with them.

16. It’s a family affair

PBH is run by local legends Kylie Plunkett and Sam McGrath, who live, work and raise their two boys in this close-knit seaside community. Sam’s family bought the pub back in 2005, and Kylie and Sam took over 10 years later, making slow and steady changes to eventually bring their dream of this beautiful, welcoming community hub with its ‘love local’ philosophy to life.

17. A holiday and local hotspot

Whether you’re a long-time local, a regular visitor to Peregian Beach or you’re making brand-new memories on your first trip to this stunning slice of paradise, the team at PBH will welcome you with open arms. But be warned – one visit is never enough!

18. Live life in colour

Boring beige, be gone – PBH is all about COLOUR! Inspired by glowing pink sunsets and the calming blue of the ocean, these hues are splashed liberally throughout the venue, making it a feast for the eyes everywhere you look.

19. There’s heaps happening

From book launches to foodie events, there’s always something coming up at this gorgeous gathering place. The team especially loves showcasing local produce through creative food and drink events – keep an eye on their socials for what’s next, and don’t miss the 20 Cheers for 20 Years celebrations in October.
