Afternoon Delight – Gusto
Looking for somewhere to go pre-dinner where the snacks, drinks and ambience are just right? Deb Caruso discovers the answer.
Summer afternoons call for beautiful cocktails, flavoursome snacks and a stunning sunset view. You can enjoy it all with great Gusto at one of Noosa’s favourite riverside restaurants!
A Noosa institution since 1999, the past two years has seen Gusto go from strength-to-strength thanks to new owners Tim and Chloe. With a refreshed interior, including taking over the neighbouring site to expand the deck and introduce little sister, Brontes; Gusto’s river views can be savoured all day.
Throughout December, Gusto has upped the ante for afternoon delights with nibbles and cocktails from 3-5pm daily. Think cocktails and spritzes paired with bite-sized morsels too good not to share. Talented head chef Michael Trask offers up goodies such as Salmon Tartare with Lime Caviar, Salmon Roe, Avocado and Chilli Lime Dressing; Crispy Duck Spring Rolls with a Thai Red Curry Sauce; or Tempura Zucchini Flowers Stuffed with Roasted Pumpkin Puree, Cucumber, Tomato, Caper Salsa and Ricotta! Sometimes you can’t beat the simplicity of a Hot Baguette with Truffle Butter and a cold beer; or Warm Marinated Olives with a dry martini; Freshly Shucked Coffin Bay Oysters with Watermelon Salsa and Fresh Lemon with bubbles – now we’re talking!
If you want more, why not try the Weekdays Feed Me Menu with six dishes including dessert for $45 per person; Saturday serves up a Bottomless Wine Lunch with 5 courses for $75; and on Sunday, who can go past the $39 Sunday Roast from noon until sold-out?
The team will again take time off but the Christmas Hampers will be back. At just $110 per person including entrees featuring oysters, prawns, Moreton Bay bug, Salmon Gravlax plus Moya Chicken Liver Terrine; a choice of main served with roast vegetable salad and Gusto’s famous Xmas Parfait; it’s delicious value!
Whatever your plans are for a delicious summer, do it with great Gusto!
