The Noosa culinary community is excited to welcome back Noosa Eat & Drink Festival after a few years’ hiatus, discovers Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer.

Canapés in hands, glasses of Dal Zotto prosecco raised and huge smiles on faces at the official media launch of the 2024 Noosa Eat & Drink Festival – a delectable day that gave guests a (literal) taste of not just the fabulous food that’ll be on offer, but the way in which this special event brings the culinary community together.

Our afternoon started at the floral-adorned Lánai, where we were treated to refreshing Aperol Spritzes and a selection of blissful bites, before MC Chris Parsons talked us through the plan for the day, which – surprise surprise! – included lots of eating and drinking.

Next it was all aboard the Noosa Ferry, where chef Matt Golinski shucked fresh oysters, serving them up with native ingredients such as Davidson Plum and Aniseed Myrtle before we landed at Locale, for more things ‘eat’ and ‘drink’.

Locale owner Rio and acclaimed visiting chefs Ben Williamson of Agnes in Brisbane and Jason Saxby of Raes at Wategos in Byron Bay, shared that they will be joining forces with Locale chef Chris Hagan as a ‘chef supergroup’ to create a one-of-a-kind menu for the Locale Gala Dinner to close the Festival.

The Sofitel’s sundrenched poolside was beckoning, so we gathered for more to eat and drink, sampling an incredible spread of food from Noosa Beach House chef Nick Blake washed down with Seabourne Distillery .

Festival Director John Guise officially launched the program.

There was a palpable sense of excitement in the air, and everyone agreed that this Noosa Eat & Drink Festival will be one for the (cook) books. Cheers to food, friends and fabulous experiences!
