Bird by the Beach

Sink your toes into the sand, let the sun kiss your skin and settle in for a pleasure picnic IN Noosa with Carlie Wacker and the Bird.

Fine dining overlooking main beach is a part of what we love about our fabulous Noosa and when it comes to picnics on the beach we are doing that in a rather sophisticated way now too.

It’s all thanks to BIRD Noosa – the go-to charcoal rotisserie chicken specialist that have recently opened a BIRD booth in Hastings Street.

Nested beside the Sofitel Beach House at the entrance to Bay Village from the street, you’ll find the baby brother of the much-loved BIRD in Noosa Junction.

The idea of Bird was born over a charcoal chicken, buttery baguette and bottle of French burgundy so its origins are a bit fancy.

Since then the team led by Chrissie and Peter Degotardi have been serving up delicious, juicy free-range chickens with rotisserie chap potatoes and roast gravy; freshly-baked French baguettes and smoked butter; as well as signature salads; the longed-after chicken finger sandwiches and freshly-made wraps.

The secret to succulent bird starts with quality ingredients and BIRD uses free-range Elgin Valley chicken that is cooked over a pure Ironbark charcoal rotisserie imported from Madrid to deliver that deliciously smokey flavours that transports our tastebuds to holiday heaven!

BIRD’s baguettes are baked in-house and they even smoke their own butter. The result is one bangin’ bird!

What BIRD brings to Hastings Street is the convenience of a passionately-prepared and bloody delicious dinner or lunch; even brunch! Why not do BIRD and bubbles for breakfast?!

If you’re holidaying on Hastings Street, you can now grab a fantastic feast and chill by the pool or laze in your room while listening to the crashing waves and hubbub of the street below.

We love an opportunity to sink our toes in the sand and soak up the stunning Noosa sun and a picnic is the perfect way to bring a little romance to your world.

And, as I always say – if you’re going to do it, do it in style.

Uncle George is a quirky colourful shop across the road from BIRD on Hastings Street and the friendly team there have all you need for the perfect picnic setting – gorgeous beach mats and baskets; napkins; beach and pool friendly wine glasses and tumblers.

Why not wow your picnic pal with champagne and chicken – a classic and classy combination (and yes – you can get your booze from BIRD – Peter has curated an exceptional wine, cider and craft beer menu!).

With food and beverage in your basket you are just a hop, skip and a jump away from a Noosa beach, spit or woods picnic and you’ll have won the heart and filled the belly of someone you love.

PS – for a quick fix, park undercover at Bay Village and grab your BIRD – there’s free parking for the first half hour.
