Civic Duty: Noosa Civic

Whether you choose to visit for a spot of shopping, to gather with friends, to support local charities or to take part in their free school holiday workshops, Noosa Civic has something for everyone and exists to service the community, discovers Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer.

Sometimes there’s no better feeling than moseying around a shopping mall – popping into your favourite stores (and discovering a few new ones), chatting to the friendly shop assistants, stopping for a coffee and a slice of cake, dropping into the free playgroup with your little ones, and supporting the charity drives that help make our community a better place for all.

Just 10 minutes from Hastings Street, Noosa Civic is a vibrant community hub with all the high quality fashion, homewares, jewellery, beauty services and more you’d expect from over 100 specialty stores. The Centre also offers fun, free school holiday workshops, a regular Tuesday morning playdate for tiny tots, and other exciting events and initiatives throughout the year.

As well as being a popular place to gather, Noosa Civic has one eye firmly on the future, with the development of its Noosa Business Centre aiming to provide essential services for residents living in Noosa and its surrounds.

The expanded Centre will include a Medihub featuring state-of-the-art radiation oncology services (meaning local cancer patients can access world-class treatment in their own neighbourhood, and won’t have to travel all the way down to the Sunshine Coast); boutique residential accommodation, providing more housing options for those looking to downsize, move to the area or buy their first home; a modern, purpose-built Early Learning Centre, providing support to residents and employees from within the Business Centre and the local area; and a stunning, leafy Village Green-style entertainment precinct, complete with cafes, restaurants and a Reading Cinemas complex.

With a focus on job creation, the expansion of Noosa Civic and the Noosa Business Centre is designed to create opportunities for all – both now and in the next few decades. It’s estimated that there will be around 2100 new jobs on completion, as well as new roles in innovation and startups, creative industries, health, medical tourism, research and development, education, childcare, retail, entertainment and services, resulting in more long-term prospects for local talent and a thriving future for the region.

“We want to set up Noosa for the future, creating jobs for today and the next generation; keeping investment local; and for the community to not have to leave the local area for work, medical procedures or to use services or retail over 45 minutes’ drive away,” says Stockwell Development Manager Kelly Alcorn.

The residential offering, Hof Noosaville, consists of one, two and three-bedroom apartments that capture Queensland’s timeless style, providing thoughtfully designed layouts with a modern aesthetic set within the leafy surrounds of a quiet, grounded community.

With easy access to Noosa’s famous beaches, verdant walking tracks, iconic dining options as well as Noosa Civic’s shopping, employment, medical and education hubs nearby, this residential development is helping locals stay local and live in the place they love.

Continuing Noosa Civic’s legacy as a place that people gather, its welcoming new Village Green space will have the capacity to host events for 50 to 5,000 people, and will be where Noosa comes together for community, connection and camaraderie – something that feels more important than ever in an increasingly disconnected world.

See you in The Village!
