Enduring Design at NCP
Deb Caruso discovers how a decades-long relationship with a global leader keeps genuine European design just a showroom visit away for Noosa homeowners.
Villeroy & Boch has been making beautiful ceramics since 1748, when François Boch and his sons set up shop in Europe. NCP can’t match three centuries of history, but almost 75 years after the McDonald family opened their doors, the local outfit has been keeping Sunshine Coast bathrooms, kitchens and laundries running smoothly since the region was little more than a string of small towns.
The two businesses have been working together for decades, and that long relationship means Noosa homeowners get genuine European design without leaving the region. Walk into any of NCP’s five showrooms and you’ll find the latest from Villeroy & Boch, including the newly launched Avia 2.0 range.
Avia 2.0 takes classical design and gives it modern-day practicality, moving easily between federation cottages, coastal retreats, Hamptons-style interiors and sleek contemporary builds. Tapware, showers and accessories all share one cohesive look, so the same finish can run from the ensuite through to the butler’s pantry.
“This collection’s finishes – Chrome, Brushed Nickel, and Brushed Gold – mean you can select a finish that complements your interior style, whether that’s traditional or contemporary,” says NCP General Manager Tracy Wilkins.
Ceramic and metal accents, gooseneck or straight mixers, and a range of basin styles are all on offer, and NCP’s team is on hand to help narrow down the right combination. Small details count too – Avia 2.0’s showers use easy-clean silicon nozzles, so a quick wipe keeps them looking new even in a busy household.
For something with more history built in, there’s Luxx tapware, including a wall-mounted basin mixer inspired by the decorative tiles of the Old Abbey in Mettlach, Germany. Its engraved handle catches the light beautifully, and a dual-motion design lets it lift and turn to control flow and temperature – a small, tactile link back to the brand’s origins. Like Avia 2.0, it comes in Chrome, Brushed Nickel and Brushed Gold.
For anyone renovating or building locally, this is what that decades-long relationship between NCP and Villeroy & Boch really means: proper European design expertise, backed by local know-how, just a showroom visit away.
