If you want to build a fashion brand follow in the footsteps of Queensland entrepreneur Rebecca Pask – a woman with a mission to empower women in and out of their swimsuits. Carlie Wacker meets the brains and beauty behind Barr Body Swim.

On meeting the powerhouse that is Rebecca Pask you feel immediately drawn to her passion for all things business and female empowerment. There’s a sense that she will not relent on her goals in life – failure and self-doubt don’t stand a chance in the hands of this human and you just want to be around her. When faced with a recent fashion frustration, Rebecca took matters into her own hands. The media, marketing and branding expert and founder of Pask Media identified a gap in the fashion market that every woman can relate to – a luxury swimsuit that doubles as a bodysuit without the annoyance of a snap crotch!

A swimsuit-come-bodysuit that can be dressed up or dressed down. It was her deep dive into the availability of such a simple multi-functional garment that she realised her truest calling was to build a bodysuit that will take the wearer from beach to bar to boardroom – and beyond. From concept to cult following I have followed this journey and been inspired by her ability to build a community around the humble cossie, togs, bathers, swimmers – call it what you will! Not only is Rebecca solving a fashion apparel issue in the market, but she is also enabling women to step beyond the confines of their doubts and fears associated with swimwear.

Barr Body Swim has entered the market with a clear body positive message and an experiential way of delivering it – by inviting women of all ages, shapes and sizes to participate in content days where they are photographed in gorgeous locations surrounded by other like-minded women. Rebecca was the genius behind the recent ‘Freedom Of Peach’ movement which was a response to negative press about scantily clad women on Queensland beaches. She rallied the troops and hosted hundreds of women and men in their swimsuits on a rainy day in Broadbeach to express the importance of allowing freedom to wear what we choose and be proud of our bodies, big and small.

The very art of self-expression is something we need to support and encourage, and Barr Body Swim enters the market with a tank full of body positive, self and planet loving garments that encourage quality over quantity. The timeless luxury of a Barr Body and Swim one piece bodysuit means it will replace multiple items in your wardrobe and last for seasons to come.

There are notable benefits in wearing one of Rebecca’s designs – you won’t find yourself fiddling with straps and clasps and adjusting your swimwear / bodysuit. The fit has been perfected and molds to the body, the fabric is sustainably sourced and of the highest quality – it feels like a second skin. The limited edition releases of new colours and prints are designed to work within an existing wardrobe.

In fact, the Barr Body Swim suit will become the most versatile item in your closet – and now that the secret is out of the closet you’d better snap up one of the State’s most coveted cossies as the collections are small and sell out fast. Be like Rebecca, fill your world with self love and free the peach – swim in the ocean, wear the swimsuit to the Sofitel after a dip at Noosa Main Beach – tread and travel lightly with the one garment that keeps on giving – a Barr Body Swim suit!
