Lovely Lucios’

We all love Lucio’s for its fresh, seasonal food inspired by the seasons and served alongside the serenity of Noosa River, but as Deb Caruso discovers, the team has recently elevated their authentic Italian hospitality with some exciting events.

Lucio’s is a little slice of the Italian Riviera right here on the Noosa River and in true Italian style, is extremely welcoming and hospitable with owner Matteo Galletto inviting guests to feel right at home.

A group of passionate pink ladies did just that when WomenKind Australia took over the restaurant for a Shades of Pink party on International Women’s Day. The event included a cabaret performance by The Kitty Kats and raised money for women affected by domestic violence in the Noosa region.

It’s just one of the events that the stunning riverside venue will host in 2024 with Matteo running a series of Lucio’s Jazz Lunches. The first one to be held on 21 March with an incredible three-course meal alongside top tunes from The Noosa Jazz Ensemble!

Missed the boat for that one? There will be more and be sure to get your tickets for the Stella Bella wine lunch on 18 May with the winemaker as a special guest for a four course feast with matching wines.

The Tuna Experience with Walker Seafoods as part of Noosa Eat & Drink Festival on Friday 31 May promises to be a memorable ultimate culinary adventure with an exclusive, live whole tuna cutting on arrival followed by four-courses showcasing Australia’s best and only sustainable tuna and highlighting its exquisite flavours that will also be expertly paired with cocktails and wines.

If you loved the Four Hands Dinner where Lucio’s Head Chef Alberto Vitassovich collaborated with Bask’s Jack Madden to present a five-course feast, then get ready for June when our very own Matt Golinski will add his two hands to create something special.

Part of the unique Lucio’s charm is Matteo’s determination to continually push the bar with the restaurant’s culinary offerings, with Alberto showcasing an innovative menu that brings new flavours to old favourites.

We recommend that you don’t go past their signature dishes – Vitello Tonnato, poached and shaved veal loin with tuna foam and caper leaves; Octopus Carpaccio, Fremantle octopus carpaccio with olive emulsion, salsa verde and potato foam; and Fritto Misto Classico, featuring baby calamari, school prawns and whitebait with house mayo; and, of course, their pasta that’s house-made to absolute perfection.

There’s always something lovely happening at Lucio’s!
