The Autumn issue is our biggest ever and it was launched in grand style at City Cave Noosa last Friday.

The event featured The Ohana Group tempting the crowd with creative canapés and The Bartenders shaking it with some much-loved cocktails featuring the delicious Diablo & Co alcoholic ginger beer, spirits and liqueurs. DJ Roland West kept the feet tapping and Florence Lemyre and Ian Waldie were on hand to catch all the action.

Our cover art is again the talk of the town and features the work of local artist Lauren Jones who we discovered at the Butter Factory Arts Centre 40 Under 40 exhibition. We were joined by some incredibly special guests including Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart; and a goosebump-giving song by local award-winning songstress Katie Noonan and the amazing 12-year-old Eumundi School of Rock graduate, Layla, who wowed onlookers with a rendition of Katie’s hit song Special Ones. The duo were there to promote the upcoming Sunshine Sounds Festival to be held 1-2 May in Eumundi! Read about it here and find out how to WIN a double pass!

Just over 12 months ago we were all just down the road at Reed & Co celebrating the autumn edition and feeling a bit nervous about this curious thing called COVID-19.

What a journey it has been – and there were times when I’m sure we all wondered if we would ever be here again.

We’re fortunate to work across a large cross-section of the community and our sense is that Noosa has done pretty well in surviving the shock and not only surviving – but thriving.

Sure, we all have a few bumps, bruises and an empty liquor cabinet (where are all the home schooling parents?!) but we’re here together – and I think TOGETHERNESS is what has helped. That strength of community and supporting each other.

For us, we are in our seventh year and we would not be here if not for you and we will continue to be here FOR YOU.

That has always been our goal. Out of COVID we produced THE GUIDE just in time for the June/July school holidays to support businesses – to let locals and visitors know where to go and what to do. The reaction was amazing from both clients and readers who were desperate to reconnect. We have always been more than a magazine and our online digital magazine and e-newsletter that we kept going through COVID more than tripled with click-throughs and engagement and our social media kept growing.

This bolstered us to continue with our plans to introduce a little sister –  HELLO SUNSHINE MAGAZINE which is all about the Savvy, Surprising and Spirited people of the Sunshine Coast. It launched in December along with the Vanilla Food Cookbook which was our pleasure to produce for the amazing Nilla.

We continue to embed our mag in the hearts and minds of locals and visitors – to support you – our local businesses.

So thank you for your continued support – for working with us, for sharing your stories and challenges with us and for trusting and believing that we are here to connect you with your community. To INform, Indulge and INspire!

In the crazy busyness of navigating through the ‘new normal’ – please take the time to reflect on your success, your grit, determination, and sheer hard work that means you are still here. You are resilient and you are leaders.
