Must-See Music at Noosa Alive!

It’s not often some of the greatest acts in contemporary Australian music converge on Noosa’s shores and stages for ten whole days! From 21 to 30 July, NOOSA alive! will set our senses ablaze with mesmerising concerts and music festivals across the coast.

Tune in to our must-see performances, from the soulful, crackling warmth of Kate Ceberano and Vika & Linda; to the synergies of jazz and classical between Meg Washington & Paul Grabowsky or the Riverside Guitar Ensemble; to electrifying line-ups of homegrown musicians at Seaside Vibes. 1. SEASIDE VIBES DAY 1 & DAY 2 

Hear the music rise with the tide on Noosa Main Beach when Seaside Vibes Music Festival kicks off the first weekend of NOOSA alive!

Hosted by 92.7 Mix FM’s Todd and Sami and headlined by Raw Ordio and Bobby Alu, this flowing soundscape of electronic groove, acoustic folk harmonies and rich soulful rhythms will set the mood for a show-stopping arts festival to come!

As you immerse in the music, dance your way across the sand or bring a picnic blanket to sprawl upon and indulge in four rounds of canapés and an on-site bar!

2. RIVERSIDE GUITAR ENSEMBLE

Join the Riverside Guitar Ensemble in a musical feast of fiery acoustic arrangements, led by director Karin Schaupp, multi-instrumentalist Joel Woods and rising star Jeremy Stafford!

From intimate guitar solos and duos to an 18-strong guitar ensemble playing unconducted on stage, the finest guitarists in Australia perform with synergy, virtuosity and energy. Delight in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Mandolins, Sergio Assad’s latin, Doug de Vries’s jazz and the rumba of Gipsy Kings plus exciting new works from emerging Queensland composers!

3. MEG WASHINGTON & PAUL GRABOWSKY

Paul Grabowsky AO first encountered Meg Washington as a young jazz singer recently graduated from Queensland Con. Within a few months, they had co-written a repertoire of new songs and performed across Australia!

Now, these kindred musical spirits reunite to perform an electrifying catalogue of collaborative music. In tandem with one of Australia’s most distinguished jazz pianists, Meg Washington will also premiere new music, explore old classics and reimagine her favourite songs.

4. ALIVE! IN THE WOODS – KATE CEBERANO 

As we reach the final weekend of NOOSA alive!, disappear into Noosa Woods for an unparalleled showcase of national talent at Alive! In The Woods, a celebration of the festival’s 21st Anniversary!

Luminous, enthralling and formidable, Kate Ceberano unleashes her breathtaking catalogue on the stage, enriched by a four-decade legacy of inspirational storytelling in the realms of rock, pop, soul and jazz.

Alongside enduring luminaries, new generations of musicians will perform to be crowned winner of Noosa STARS alive! 2023, hosted by Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi and judged by Rhonda Burchmore OAM.

PLUS! Throughout the day, hear TOBiAS’s indie and folk pop melodies, the blissful vocals of Noosa STARS alive! 2022 winner Sari Abbott and Tjaka’s fusion of modern technology and ancient indigenous sounds.

5. ALIVE! IN THE WOODS – VIKA & LINDA + EMMA PASK

The finale of NOOSA alive! 2023 ignites with the effervescent soulful harmonies of Vika & Linda as they perform their classic and new sounds from eight studio albums, two live albums and a chart-topping anthology.

Alongside the songbird sisters, Emma Pask’s spellbinding vocals will stir the soul as she revives the classic era of jazz with an illustrious career behind her, from touring with James Morrison as lead vocalist for 20 years to performing with international orchestras.

Vika & Linda and Emma Pask are joined by Rob Edwards’ indigenous multi-instrumental jazz and blues and Ampersand’s energetic funk fusion performed by young Noosa musicians!
