The Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s winter racing lineup offers all the racing thrills and spills without the chill. Melanie Rosettenstein finds out more from Marketing and Events Manager, Taryn Delaney.

If there’s one thing we know for certain, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions are far from one-horse towns. And if you’re looking to experience the high glamour and thrilling drama of horse racing, then the Sunshine Coast Turf Club, the world’s busiest grass track, is right here on our doorstep.

Marketing and Events Manager, Taryn Delaney, is buzzing with excitement over the lineup of fantastic winter racing events punters, racing enthusiasts, fashionistas and merry makers can look forward to, especially after last year’s refurbishments which have seriously elevated the venue.

The turf club’s snazzy newly upgraded venues now include The Chairman’s Club, The Glasshouse and the Parade Ring Terrace. The Member’s Bar and Bistro, Atrium Bar and Dining, and Champagne Garden have also been upgraded and the Turf Club now exudes modern horse racing vibes with a luxe coastal feel.

What’s more, ahead of the Noosa Cup, taking place on 18 August, the Sunshine Coast Turf Club proudly announces the opening of The Avenue, their newest off-track destination that will enhance feature raceday experiences with unparalleled live music, entertainment, fashion, bars and food trucks as well as brand activations.

“Our winter racing events are not only about the sport. They are a celebration of the lifestyle, luxury, and leisure that define the Sunshine Coast and Noosa,” Taryn says. “These events offer the thrill of the track coupled with the finest culinary experiences and fashion forwardness akin to having the ‘Birdcage’ right on your doorstep.”.

And by ‘Birdcage’, Taryn is referring to that other racetrack down south which is generally freezing at this time of the year. But here on the Sunshine Coast, the weather will rarely (if ever) put a dampener on the Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s electric atmosphere or the ability to frock up without the chill.

Taryn says fashion is an important part of the upcoming Noosa Cup Day and they were thrilled to be collaborating with Sara Leonardi McGrath whose coastal-inspired It’s a Fad wearable artworks have been integrated into the event’s artwork.

The culinary offerings at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club have also received a revamp and, in the capable hands of executive chef Brett Truloff and collaborating with former Flemington executive chef Matthew Haigh, the Turf Club’s new menus promise a galloping gourmet feast.

So, if you’re in the mood for glamming up, indulging in some fine food, and watching those incredible thoroughbreds thunder around the track, then be sure to check out the Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s exciting winter racing lineup.
