FUROSHIKI – THE ART OF FABRIC GIFT WRAPPING

Noosa Civic has collaborated with local illustrator Cass Deller to create a beautiful fabric wrap – a celebration of all things Noosa at Christmas – and a beautiful and sustainable alternative to traditional wrapping paper! The art of Furoshiki originated in Japan around 710 B.C. and is a square piece of cloth or fabric used for gift wrapping, transporting items, fashion, and home decor. The word refers both to the craft and to the cloth itself, which usually has an elegant, decorative design. Spend $100 at any specialty store or $150 in Woolworths or Big W to receive your free 100% cotton fabric gift wrap until stocks last!

Step 1: On a flat surface with your gift in the middle. Pull the bottom right fabric corner up and over on top of your gift. Tuck the corner underneath the gift.

Step 2: Fold the left corner over and then under your gift.

Step 3: Pinch the pointy ends with both hands and tie a double knot.
