Botanical Bliss with VanillaFood

We love celebrating local food and drinks so when Noosa Eat & Drink announced it was back, Deb Caruso got a few friends together to create a very special experience.

There’s something special about a long Sunday lunch sharing interesting conversation, fabulous food and making new friends and magical memories.

We love connecting the community through storytelling whether through the pages of our magazines or interviews on our Everyone Has a Story: Conversations from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa podcast.

So when Noosa Eat & Drink returned, we thought it was the perfect excuse to bring some of our favourite food and drink people together for a long lunch celebrating local flavours and sharing local stories.

Enjoy a stunning Bush Tucker Lunch prepared by one of Noosa’s most celebrated chefs and cookbook author, Nilla Tomkins of VanillaFood and Nilla’s Pantry, in the intimate and earthy VanillaFood café.

Our Podcast host, writer and emcee John Caruso will chat with Nilla about growing up in Denmark, her approach to food and how she landed in Noosa.

The event will begin and end with specially-crafted cocktails created by the award-winning Sunshine & Sons and Nil Desperandum Rum legends.

John will chat with Founder & Chief Imagineer, Matt Hobson, about his journey from working in airlines to starting a distillery with some mates and the challenges of cracking the local, national and global markets, winning the World’s Best Vodka title, and producing Australia’s first certified organic rum.

This promises to be an INspiring afternoon of fascinating conversation, fabulous flavours and a load of fun!

Chef Nilla and distiller Matt Hobson will share their stories between courses, culminating with an interactive Q&A session and giveaways before adjourning to VanillaFood’s Kitchen Garden gazebo for dessert and a specially-created organic spiced rum from Nil Desperandum.

Additional cocktails and Australian organic natural wines, craft beer and kombucha will be available for purchase and there will be lucky door prizes galore including limited edition 700ml bottles of IN Noosa Gin by Sunshine & Sons and VanillaFood Cookbooks.

With only 45 seats available, this intimate event is not to be missed.
