A member-based not-for-profit organisation, Arts Connect Inc has spent years supporting and promoting artists across the Sunshine Coast, connecting artists, industries and communities through a program of unique art experiences, exhibitions and workshops. At the heart of its work are two flagship events that have become firm fixtures on the region’s arts calendar.

Open Studios Sunshine Coast, running since 2010, is a self-guided art trail held across two weekends each July — one through the hinterland, the other along the coast — giving visitors a rare look inside working artist studios, from backyard sheds to gallery spaces.

Sculpture on the Edge is Arts Connect Inc’s flagship annual event — a nine-day creative feast of art and food set amid the natural beauty of Flaxton Gardens in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The exhibition showcases indoor and outdoor sculptures across a variety of media from artists near and far, with the winning artist awarded a $10,000 first prize, generously donated by Flaxton Gardens.

Adult ticket holders receive an event catalogue on entry, with gates open from 8am to 3pm daily. Arts Connect is a member-based not-for-profit that supports and promotes Sunshine Coast artists, connecting artists, industries and communities through its program of unique art experiences and workshops. Just an hour’s drive from Noosa, it makes for a perfect hinterland day trip.
