Salty Mermaid wasn’t a long time coming — co-owners Lisa and Kelly turned the idea into a sun-drenched reality in just 48 hours flat, and Peregian Beach has been better for it ever since. Doors swing open at 6am for scratch-made everything: jams, dressings, juices canned fresh the night before, and bread that lands daily at 4am from Brasserie Bread. Nothing pre-packaged, nothing vanilla.
The space matches the energy — oversized lounge chairs, big communal tables, the kind of spot that doubles as a mothers’ group HQ and a sunny solo coffee escape. Even the logo has personality: a hand-drawn, gold, distinctly feminine mermaid with just enough salt in her to match the owners themselves.
